A group of Canadian-based venture capital firms are facing accusations of defrauding investors in cryptocurrency-related investment schemes. According to a report from The Sault Star, the firms, known as the G&S Partners, allegedly raised hundreds of thousands of dollars from investors for Metaverse projects, including Metaverse Enhancement and Metaverse Capital, which promised astronomical returns. The report found that the firms, which have since gone bankrupt, never made any investments in the projects, instead using the money to finance their own business dealings and engage in insider trading. The investors have since filed a class-action lawsuit against the firms seeking compensation.
