Sen. Cotton: ‘Massive retaliation’ against Iran needed to end attacks on US assets

Senator Tom Cotton (R-AR) has warned that the United States should prepare for a “massive retaliation” against Iran if its aggression against American interests continues. He warned against using a “measured response” that would not deter future attacks, and called on the United States to act decisively and swiftly in order to eliminate the threat. “Hostilities with Iran can never be seen as isolated incidents — they must be taken together and be met with overwhelming force in order to effectively deter further aggression,” Cotton said in a statement. He also encouraged President Donald Trump to maximize economic and diplomatic pressure on Iran in order to prevent any further aggression, and threatened that if Iran continues to press its campaign, “then we must be prepared to meet their force with overwhelming force of our own.”
