Elon Musk promised an anti-‘woke’ chatbot. It’s not going as planned.

Elon Musk’s attempt to create an anti-‘woke’ chatbot has fallen flat. The chatbot, Automated Intelligent Equality (AIE) was designed to respond to users’ queries related to current affairs, including race, politics, and other hot-button topics, with non-partisan answers free of “political buzzwords”. However, the chatbot didn’t have the desired effect, as its responses tended to come across as tone-deaf or insensitive. For example, when asked about criminal justice reform, it made an off-the-cuff comment about how criminals should take responsibility for their actions. The chatbot has since been removed from the AIE website and Musk has not commented on the project.
