Top Anheuser-Busch marketing executive is leaving after collapse in Bud Light sales

The top marketing executive at Anheuser-Busch has announced his resignation after the company experienced a collapse in sales of its flagship product, Bud Light. Jorn Socquet, the Vice President of U.S. Marketing for AB InBev, the parent company of Anheuser-Busch, announced his departure after spending the past five years in the post. The decline in sales of Bud Light has been attributed to increased competition from craft brewers, as well as shifts in consumer tastes. However, the company recently launched its Bud Light Lime-A-Rita campaign, with advertising and packaging changes meant to “Engage consumers with the brand in a more exciting way.” AB InBev will continue to look for ways to revive Bud Light sales, but without Socquet at the helm it remains to be seen what will be the next big move for the company.
